This might perhaps be one of the WASPiest days to go down in the history of West Village WASP. Yes, you heard me. It was the WASPIEST! There was rose, a cute dog in clothes and everything was PINK! Because the fabulous all-pink Pietro Nolita in the NOHO area of Manhattan also happens to present a pink decor on the exterior as well it seemed like a natural shoot choice. As a result of course everything we wore had to be pink. Grease the musical came to mind after seeing this all-pink restaurant so it seemed like the perfect theme to match the decor as the Pink Ladies “ruled the school” and always looked fashionable!
No photo shoot is complete without my partner in crime bestie Adelaide Freeman (ie. my poor friend who I drag everywhere and bribe with food and alcohol) so Adelaide agreed to come along. I made her play the part of Betty “Rizzo” (with short red wig and all) and I would play “Sandra Dee” (naturally give myself the cooler role). Next I decided no GREASE shoot was complete without a Danny Zuko so I asked my fluffy four-legged friend Teddy the dog (@TeddygramNYC) to come along for this adventure to which he surely replied, “F*CK! Do I have to wear pink too?” To which I replied, “No of course not. You are a manly man-dog but you must dress accordingly and in theme. You will dress as Danny Zuko.” Teddy sorely responded with a “WHOOOOFF” (expletive expletive)! Not sure if that was a “yes” but I promised to bring Beggin Strips. Poor guy didn’t stand a chance.
